Meet Dawn & Scott, the winners of our Elegant Elopement give-away! They flew all the way down from Canada to spend their special day with us at the beautiful Valley of Fire. Dawn and Scott are no strangers to Las Vegas, and had been thinking about eloping during one of their visits. So we think that Dawn might have had some divine inspiration to enter the contest, and ultimately win her elopement!

We had a great time working with Dawn via Skype and email to stylize and plan out she and Scott’s big day. One of the greatest parts of an Elegant Elopement is that you get all the beautiful details of a regular wedding, scaled down into a lovely, intimate setting. Dawn and Scott chose to share their day with a small handful of guests, and we were able to coordinate travel and accommodate seating, cake and refreshments for them while they enjoyed a beautiful fall afternoon in the desert.

Everyone was in awe of the beauty of the desert and all of the amazing and vibrant colors of Valley of Fire. Though it was a tiny bit chilly in the shade, we really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect November afternoon. It was peaceful and calm and absolutely wonderful.

We are so happy that our give-away went to such a lovely couple. Dawn and Scott and their entire group of family and friends were kind and gracious and helped to make the day extra special with their laughter, love and support.

Thank you so much Dawn and Scott for trusting us to plan and arrange one of the biggest days of your lives. We hope you cherish the memory, the photos and each other, always.

Our best,
Lory, Rachel & Rey

One of the most awesome things about photographing weddings, is getting to know the intimate stories of our couples. As we photograph each part of their wedding, not only do we get to witness the bride and grooms connection, but also the connection they have with family and friends. We get to know the couple from all angles and aspects, and it can be a very emotional and powerful thing.

Ashley and Joe share many life stories that will make you laugh, and several that will make you cry. Their marriage is the most beautiful new beginning that they both deserve. Getting to witness and photograph their wedding was truly an honor.

Ashley & Joe, in the words of the great Steven Hawking, here are three pieces of advice for your new journey-

“One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don’t throw it away.”
Indeed you have been lucky to find love. We wish for you a lifetime of it!
All our best,
Lory, Rachel & Rey

What makes human beings able to change and become more? To have more depth to their souls, to have more time for the things that make us happy? What is it that makes us unique as a human being? It is the ability to evolve on a higher level as an emotional, rational thinking human being. We have choice. Choice is pretty important. We can adapt to our circumstances, change for the better, or stay stagnant. We can find ways to overcome, to push on, to grow, to adapt. In short, we can decide to Evolve. Just recently, Rey and I were able to attend the Evolving Photography workshop near Salt Lake City, Utah, hosted by the wonderfully talented, open hearted, giving, and free spirited Abbey Kyhl of www.abbeyhyhl.com Abbey taught us through story, visuals, and actual hands on experiences at our workshop that we must be able to center our lives in such a way that we are able to focus on those around us that we love and be present with them. We can grow and evolve to put our hearts and souls into change mode and overcome the challenges we face. And come out on the other side, better. Stronger. We have evolved into a higher level of strength, love, and recognize what really is important, and that is our relationships with each other. Family, those we love, people we serve and work to connect with.. those are the ties that bind.. This is critical because as photographers our entire world focuses on photographing loving relationships. People and the ones they love are the MOST important reason we are here. This workshop was LIFE CHANGING because it helped to allow us to tame the business beast that threatened to remove the connection component to the ones we care about. Thanks Abbey for helping give us systems to allow us to tame our busy out of control lives, and simplify, so that we can spend time and connect with those who are most important. The ones we love, and the ones we serve. Here are a few images from this last week of beautiful couples, amazing vendors to help create the whole affair, and taken just after a rain shower, the light was unbelievable, beautiful and soft, and the smell of the earth after a rain is well, you know, just amazing….take a moment, relax, and enjoie… C&L

The summer day was beautiful. Warm and sunny, just turning into early evening. No clouds to be found.
A small breeze, just a whisper of wind to gently blow the hair and cool down a warm day. The red brick of the historic old Logandale school was warm to the touch. Out on the vast back lawn, white chairs and a path bordered with glass jars of fresh flowers led the way to the ceremony area where Bekah and Jason were soon to be united in love and marriage under a lovely white gazebo. Bekah was lovely in her lace gown with a beautiful soft smile on her face.. surrounded by many family and friends, and the look on Jason’s face as he saw her for the first time, well, just say, he was a happy man. After the brief ceremony, the crowd moved inside to the cool air in the beautifully decorated old school for a wonderful fun filled reception.
Congratulations to this newly formed family, Mr and Mrs Knoble! We are so glad you invited Cactus and Lace to be with you and experience a wedding full of love and joy! Thanks from our hearts, may your new life together be a wonderful one!
