What makes human beings able to change and become more? To have more depth to their souls, to have more time for the things that make us happy? What is it that makes us unique as a human being? It is the ability to evolve on a higher level as an emotional, rational thinking human being. We have choice. Choice is pretty important. We can adapt to our circumstances, change for the better, or stay stagnant. We can find ways to overcome, to push on, to grow, to adapt. In short, we can decide to Evolve. Just recently, Rey and I were able to attend the Evolving Photography workshop near Salt Lake City, Utah, hosted by the wonderfully talented, open hearted, giving, and free spirited Abbey Kyhl of www.abbeyhyhl.com Abbey taught us through story, visuals, and actual hands on experiences at our workshop that we must be able to center our lives in such a way that we are able to focus on those around us that we love and be present with them. We can grow and evolve to put our hearts and souls into change mode and overcome the challenges we face. And come out on the other side, better. Stronger. We have evolved into a higher level of strength, love, and recognize what really is important, and that is our relationships with each other. Family, those we love, people we serve and work to connect with.. those are the ties that bind.. This is critical because as photographers our entire world focuses on photographing loving relationships. People and the ones they love are the MOST important reason we are here. This workshop was LIFE CHANGING because it helped to allow us to tame the business beast that threatened to remove the connection component to the ones we care about. Thanks Abbey for helping give us systems to allow us to tame our busy out of control lives, and simplify, so that we can spend time and connect with those who are most important. The ones we love, and the ones we serve.
