Sarah is the kind of girl who strikes us as very glamorous, no matter what. She just has that glam look which was really played up recently by our beauty magicians at Ruby Finch Salon on her wedding day. She even had an amazing rough cut crystal crown in her hair! So yes, a fabulous destination wedding in Las Vegas fit right into her glam plans. And Valley of Fire is the most romantic destination anywhere. Fiery red rocks, huge rock formations and perfectly spectacular sunsets. Sounds perfect! Add in our crazy planning skills, and a girl can relax and just show up for her own wedding!
We had no idea this Australian bride of ours also had a bit of an edgy side, which came out when we were planning the wedding for her and P.J. her fiance! So not surprisingly, exquisite deep moody flowers in her bridal bouquet, bleach white cow skulls, black jackets with “til Death” on one jacket and “do us Part” on the other jacket came into the mix. Between the glam dress she wore, and PJ’s smart suit, that kind of fun, spontaneous, and playful kind of vibe came through loud and clear. We had a great time planning her wedding, as it was not your typical elopement. Angie, of Peachy Keen Unions did a marvelous service officiating for the happy two in a tender ceremony. And Sarah and PJ had opted to have Alex White, owner of Yukon Pizza, bring his big wood fired pizza oven to the red rocks of Valley of Fire, and make artisan pizza right in front of us. And Carmen Caristo, of Sweet Sauce Coffee, did beautiful cold veggie, fruit, olive, and cheese platters. Just some lovely finger foods served right on the table. It was a feast for sure. And judging by the number of pizzas coming out of that oven, I think everyone got filled up just fine.
One of our favorite parts of any of our wedding stories, are the various amazing ways these grooms come up with to pop the question. Australia is one of those countries that is pretty far from the states, but right smack dab in the middle of our two countries is a tiny little blip in the Pacific ocean. You guessed it, Hawaii. Tropical, lovely, palm trees, all kinds of green tropical plants, and stunning landscape. Sarah said that they had decided to vacation in Hawaii and while they were walking on the Waikiki beach, PJ pulled a ring out of his pocket and popped the question. And she said, “Yes!” Both of them loved the idea of a destination wedding, and what could be better than Vegas, and an elegant elopement in the Valley of Fire with friends! They wanted somewhere they could get married and then experience a beautiful sunset, and we have some of the best sunsets anywhere!
Sarah and PJ, we wish you many happy years of love, bliss, and good luck building that new house!
