Jade simply loves photography. She loves taking pictures and has a great time doing it. Maybe that’s why she found us. We love photography so much, we could not think of anything else taking its’ place. Like attracts like, they say. Jade’s thoughtful added photographic details could be seen in her clothing, and in Gaz’s suit as well.
Let’s start with Jade’s dress, shall we? It was delicious, and fit like a glove. She had selected the Anais gown by Anny Lin Bridal. It had lovely boho touches which shimmered in the sun and gave a sparkle as she walked. The dress also had slight, very thin ostrich type feathers added which fluttered in the breeze, backlit by the sun. It was the sweetest of all dresses. We loved this detail-oriented gal. Next, she had added an authentic cowgirl hat, custom made for her by Stetson Hat company, who have been making cowboy and cowgirl hats for decades. Jade’s hat was hand made with her initials, wedding date, and the Stetson name all branded onto the hat. We took photos of her and her hat, then added her flower crown to the brim of the hat and took even more photos!
Jade was not finished though. She hand-painted designs, on white leather for herself, and her maids in black leather. Each painted jacket was personalized with names, and a special design specific to the person. They were outstanding and really great additions to this wedding. Is there anything this girl couldn’t do? Well, we haven’t told you about the coyote skull, but we have to leave something for another day, don’t we?
Jade told me she had also thought of a special touch for the groom and groomsmen. She knew that it might be a bit warm during the day, and she told me she wanted the boys to wear braces. Now, to us, braces are worn on the teeth here in American lingo. So, I was game, brides have had all kinds of special requests made of the bridal party, so why not? People have gages in their ears, and grills on their teeth sometimes too, braces were not too far off, lol. But, alas, I was wrong, oh so wrong. Braces in the UK are suspenders. Ah. thanks for clarifying that, Jade! SO the guys had suspenders for when the jackets came off. Good choice, we like it! And so much less expensive!
It was a wonderful day, with perfect weather. Several friends, and also the Dads’ of this happy couple gave touching speeches and made all of us cry. But the most crying was done, when Gaz stood and thanked everyone for coming, for the effort that was made to attend, flying from the UK to Vegas, and especially, he told us of his love for Jade, and that made us cry again, but especially, it made Jade cry, as she heard Gaz speak of those deep feelings in his heart. Sigh. Yup, of course, I cried as I saw Jade cry, dang it. A lot of happy tears going on.
Jade and Gaz, you stole our hearts, just as we knew you would. All of our love, and all the very best wishes for a long and happy future for you both. Cheers! from all of us at Cactus and Lace!
