The wedding ring is a symbol of many things. It is round and is a symbol of unity. It also is a symbol of never-ending love, one eternal round, and reminds us of the long-lasting and far-reaching effects that love can make on our lives. Wedding rings can be simple, as simple as a cigar band, common back in days when money was tight, but love still prevailed. They can be ornate, or unique, often heartfully chosen with meaning and intent to reflect the character of the relationship. The love that a wedding ring symbolizes becomes even more apparent when we see a couple that has weathered the storm through the years. Hands that have worked hard for years, and show the signs of life’s hardships in them, but still carry the rings full of love that started the whole thing rolling.
Janelle and Tyler, our wonderful, sweet couple were married recently, in front of family and friends, each walking down the aisle with their special buddies – their beautiful and striking fur babies Akyra and Cobalt. Janelle’s grandparents, “mommom” and “poppop” were the flower girl and ring bearer. These two are considered to be symbols of long term love and examples of how a strong marriage can weather each storm and become even stronger. Her grandparents were honored and happy to be able to lend their love and support as they have always done, to their granddaughter on her wedding day and now adding that love and support to Tyler as well. Janelle’s grandparents were married on the same exact day that Janelle and Tyler had chosen, 51 years before. Janelle also carried a picture of her grandparents on her bouquet.
Janelle and Tyler were married by a very good friend who had chosen to become an officiant for their special day. They were surrounded by a lovely, diverse group of friends, who came to show love and support and celebrate joy. It was a marvelous day, full of that kind of love that endures…
Congratulations Janelle and Tyler, our best wishes and love to you for a long and happy marriage from Cactus and Lace Weddings!
