Cara and James met on the back patio of their favorite local bar New Years Eve. As they put it, ” It was love at first tequila shot taken together just after midnight!”
This couple complement each other very well. James has a fiery red beard and Irish heritage. Cara tempers that Irish really well, we think. But the most important link they share is a love of dogs. One dog, in particular, we fell in love with at their wedding. For weeks before the wedding, we were dying to see their bulldog, Raegan.
When we were planning Cara and James’ wedding, Cara had mentioned that she and James owned a bulldog named Raegan. That started a whole world of building a wedding with her included. Let’s just say if I had to come to the world incarnated as a dog, it would be Raegan. She is just about the most beloved dog in the world. Cara and James decided to bring Raegan to the wedding as their flower dog, so we were ecstatic, to say the least. We even had our florist make up a flower collar for Raegan, and she was the cutest walking down the aisle.
James had requested that we be sure that Raegan was displayed in our desserts. So Caked Las Vegas, had gone above and beyond with cupcakes displaying Raegan’s face on them. They were so cute!
We did have to tell our staff that the dog would not come home with us, she would go home with her owners, Cara and James. I think they were pretty disappointed. They spoiled her pretty well while she was there.
Cara and James were an amazing couple, sweet as could be, and had a great day with us. They had hired Santana of RBBQ to do the bbq at the wedding, and I have to say, the brisket looked deliciously moist! And those plates were piled high and deep! We love to have dinner out in the desert for our clients!
The day was perfect weather-wise and they could not have asked for a better day. October and November are generally the most beautiful fall days to have a wedding in the Valley of Fire! And we have to say Cara rocked her wedding dress. She was stunning and James wasn’t half bad himself with his red beard and hat. They made a gorgeous couple and were such an easy-going pair to pose and work with that day.
Cara and James, we loved having you out with us in Valley of Fire, we are honored that you asked us to help bring your wedding day to life. Best wishes to you both as you journey through life together. All our love (and hugs to Raegan), from all of the team at Cactus and Lace! Big hugs!
