Somy and Amanjit met at Saba University School of Medicine on the Dutch Caribbean Island of Saba. Both were training to become physicians and ended up in the middle of the Caribbean. Should I stop now or could it get even more romantic than that?
Actually, the life of a med student is really tough, so although the school was located in one of the most beautiful places on earth, with a volcano rising right out of the sea straight up, this couple did not have a lot of free time. One day after another round of hardcore exams, Somy and Aman went out with a group of mutual friends. And as luck would have it, the sun was setting as they both stepped out for a breath of fresh air on the resort’s cliffside gardens, waves crashing beneath. The evening could not have been more beautiful. Fate created that chance meeting and thus began the love of a lifetime, the rest happened gradually over eight years, with separations due to medical school classes and training happening all the while. Nevertheless, these two stuck it out and ended up stronger in their relationship than ever!
From the Caribbean to Las Vegas and the Valley of Fire, with CoVid overpowering any thought of a traditional large wedding, Aman and Somy had one month to prepare after their first elopement needed to be cancelled. They called us, and after finding her perfect dress, a Luciana by Theia at the Luxe Redux Bridal shop, a sheer cap by Prim and Prairie, Aman and Somy were married in the shadows of the beautiful red cliffs at Valley of Fire, just the two of them. As Somy put it, “We felt no stress, only love and excitement! The scenery was majestic, yet intimate. With stunning flowers, and I felt like a goddess in my luxurious beaded gown.” It was a sacred, beautiful experience!
All our love, Somy and Aman, and our most heartfelt best wishes for a lovely life together!
