Crazy Adventure Wedding | Lisa and Brad

How do I describe Lisa and Brad? I have tried to put them into a category but they just won’t fit! Our bride and groom are fun, sassy, a bit on the wild side and the best people you ever want to meet. This couple loves adventuring, the great outdoors, motorcycles, and being together. They love each other so much you can feel it in the air.

Knocked off his feet

Their dating adventure began when Lisa met Brad. They liked each other a lot. They had only known each other a week or two when Lisa decided to invite Brad to Mexico on a trip with friends she had planned a while back, just to see if he could meet the high energy life she loves so much. Little did he know it, but his life was about to change in a big way. Dancing and of course, alcohol might have been involved, but up on a 2nd story balcony patio this couple found themselves, and one thing led to another. A little craziness, a bit wild, but all of a sudden Lisa accidentally sent Brad over the edge of the balcony, landing on the ground below, hitting his head. Brad said of the experience later, “She came in like a wrecking ball!” She knocked him off his feet, literally and gave him a concussion. Lisa’ friends told her as they returned back to the states that he would never date her again after that.

A Great Proposal Option

But guess what, this boy loves punishment, and return he did. Eventually proposing in the best way, Brad took Lisa on an adventure in the middle of Utah on ATV’s. Unbeknownst to her, he had rigged her ATV with a cutoff switch he could trigger as he rode behind her. Triggering the switch, he played dumb as her ATV coughed and quit. He got off and looked at her ATV like he was trying to find what was wrong with it, and then he got down on one knee and asked her, “I found it, it was stuck on this (the ring). Will you be my crazy adventure and marry me?” Tears, people, tears… How cool is that proposal!

Outdoor Desert Wedding

SO of course, Lisa and Brad wanted to get married in the outdoors they love so much. When Lisa got in touch with us, she told us right off the bat, nothing too girly! She wanted natural plants, very little flowers, dried grasses and cactus, air plants, and maybe a few feathers thrown in. We can handle that, and make it absolutely beautiful! She and Brad wanted tacos, a glamping table area, an unusual violin playing DJ-Marlon DaSoul, Carmen Caristo as our bartender, and signature drinks aptly titled, “The Wrecking Ball” margarita and “TBI” (Traumatic Brain Injury) Old Fashioned. We will let you figure out whose is whose…

This couple were so in love, and they had asked their friend and neighbor, Cody, a professional officiant in his own right to perform the ceremony. Because he knew them personally, he had special things to say about each one of them. Funny, tender, touching words that made us tear up just a bit. Lisa and Brad smiled at each other the whole time, Lisa would sometimes laugh so hard she bent over. Brad would have a huge grin. We loved this couple so much, it was like family up there.

Lisa emailed us a few weeks after the wedding and said they had had so much fun, they were sad it was over and want to get married again. We would love to handle that…it was that much fun for us too, because of you two. All of our love, best wishes, and the very best of future dreams for you both from Cactus and Lace Weddings!
