Valley of Fire. Reflect on that name for just a moment. That name alone gives a slight clue of how magnificent the scenery can be. But when there is some moisture in the air, and some clouds over head, the color of the red rocks deepens and become even more explosive in color, richer, more rare. The soft sage greens pop off the desert floor with a new life.  It doesn’t happen often, but every once in a while, some rain will fall.  As photographers we love it. The clouds bring out the soft romantic look that we just melt over. It just seems that the whole world looks richer and more vibrant to look upon.  We always say it is good luck for a wedding.  And Jessica and Jake had just enough rain to bring out all the colors we love. These two were also blessed to have a great group of family and friends with them who were a ton of fun. They all took the rain and wind in stride; holding down tables to keep them from falling and holding umbrellas. Even climbing the rocks, the guests were having a great time.

Sweet Sauce Coffee was there, with Carmen providing all kinds of drinks for the guests. And Peridot Sweet’s amazing cake, and cute little cactus themed cupcakes provided just the right touch of desert whimsy for the wedding that Jake and Jessica had imagined. By request, Jake’s father made the ceremony very special by being the officiant. His very loving words to the couple came straight from his heart for that intimate experience.

Weddings always bring a touch of the unexpected. For Jessica and Jake, this wedding day was like that. But the happy group and their good wishes will fill up their hearts with great memories for years to come. Full of love, a few surprises, and many good friends to love and support them on their special day. And isn’t that the most important thing, the love we feel that day? We felt it, and we are sure everyone else felt it too.

Congratulations and our very best wishes to you, Jessica and Jacob, with all of our love from Cactus and Lace!
