Clara and Sam knew they were in for a bit of a windy day on the day of their wedding. Forewarned is forearmed, but nothing could have prepared them (or us) for this type of gale force brought by nature.
We had warned them of the wind predicted at Valley of Fire, but the weather was even worse than predicted. We know all the tricks to making a windy wedding work, remove decor, shelter as much as possible, but this day, all of those tricks were like feathers blowing in the wind, not much help.
Clara and Sam had decided to push ahead, and the whole wedding party just embraced the elements and went with it. Because of their adventurous nature, the entire wedding was a complete success and turned out to be great, simply because of the awesome attitude of the wedding party, who were so willing to enjoy the adventure and revel in the moment! Woohoo!
The winds were clocked at 70 mph we found out the next day, so we were not kidding having to brave the wind. But we would do it all again for this lovely, sweet couple. They stole our hearts and it was so tender to watch Sam take care of Clara the whole day.
Sam and Clara, we found a special quote appropriate for this day, “They Stood in the Storm, and when the wind did not stop, they adjusted their sails.” Congratulations, way to persevere and adjust your sails, and most of all, congratulations and all our love!” -Cactus and Lace Weddings!
