When the wedding vows include “You are the Jim to my Pam” (from The Office) and “the Bob to my Linda” (from Bob’s Burgers); you know the couple is awesome! Just as wedding vows ought to be – a little silly, very personal, and oh-so sweet.
Matt and Emily first met in 2009 while working at the same restaurant. Friendly changed to romantic interest when Matt locked himself out of his car one day. Emily had opened the restaurant that day and had already finished her shift, but he called Emily to ask if I could give him a ride to grab his spare key. Their friendship deepened, and early in 2010 they officially became a couple. Neither was in a rush to wed and they have been happily living as common-law partners for years. Around the summer of 2020, they realized they were getting tired of referring to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend (the pandemic gave a lot of people some extra thinking time). After touching base with both of Emily’s parents, Matt popped the question at one of their favorite local parks on an early-evening bike ride.
As all the guests and bride & groom arrived together for the ceremony at Valley of Fire, it was one big happy family. There were many mentions of how Matt was going from having almost no family to having a BIG family. Was beautiful to see the way Emily’s family embraced him.
And since all the guests were together we were able to take them along with us for photos at sunset so everyone was able to get the full tour of Valley of Fire. All our love to Emily & Matt!
