Jessica and Cameron had originally booked with us to have a big ol’ desert wedding. This couple hailed from Montgomery, Alabama and were the sweetest couple. We love when our couples come from different parts of the US, and Jessica and Cameron had adorable accents we don’t hear too often out here in the West. They were so gracious and kind, and so happy to be there with us, we loved and adored this cute couple.
When the CoV word hit, the couple waited and waited to have a larger wedding and be able to include friends and loved ones. As time went on, though, it became clear that was not going to happen any time soon. Jessica and Cameron decided to downsize and just have their closest family and a few friends attend. They were married earlier in the month back home in Alabama and then had their intimate wedding day with just a few close family with us in Valley of Fire. Their day started with some Casino and Vegas-style photos before arriving at the Valley of Fire. When they arrived, the day was full of soft light and a little overcast, perfect for desert photos.
Initially, they were not going to do any toasts or dancing, but the relaxing pull of the desert worked its’ magic and they ended up doing both, dancing and toasting in the desert!
Jessica’s dad cried when he spoke, telling the group how grateful he was to have Jessica as his child, and grateful to his wife for giving them such a beautiful daughter. He mentioned how touched and special it was for him as a dad, to. have Cameron ask him first before proposing to Jessica. And we thought it was so cute for Cameron to write his vows to Jessica on the back of a Mon Ami Gabi bread bag the night before. Jessica ended up writing hers the day of the wedding and they both were so tender and touching. Proof that simple expressions of true love are the best, no matter what they get written on. True love always wins. Especially with the odds in Vegas.
Jessica and Cameron, we love you both. May your love grow and grow as we send our best wishes and love to you both! Congrats from all of us at Cactus and Lace!
