True Vegas Elopement | Chris and Showna

We love that Vegas weddings and elopements are such personal expressions of a couple love and their individuality. From the shoes the bride chooses, whether it is a pair of converse, platform tennis shoes, or a high end pair of spikes, to the flowers, or whatever, each couple creates the day of their dreams.

For example, Chris and Showna wanted a true budget friendly elopement, small and intimate. Some of the most important things to them were the vows they each spoke, the love and joy they felt that day, and having their little son Eden present for the ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony, and a lovely day at Valley of Fire. Our favorite thing was how Chris touched Showna’s face so tenderly and was very emotional during the ceremony. We love scenes like that!

Getting to know you

We ask our couples to tell us a little bit about themselves, and to get to know their love story. One of the favorite things we felt about Chris and Showna was their love of the outdoors, hiking, and adventurous spirits. They love making a home together.

A Valuable Foundation

We loved how after they moved in together, they took time to create a basis for strong communication. Here are five important values they felt are important in a relationship. See if you agree!

First, to communicate and be open and honest, clarifying anything which is unclear.
Second, commitment in everything they do, they do together to better their lives and future. Everything is win-win.
Next, listen with intent rather than to reply.
Fourth, be mindful and aware of your surroundings and the impact you have on each other and others.

Popping the question!

Showna said she was completely oblivious, but Chris had already asked for her families blessing so he was prepared. They went on a weekend getaway to the beautiful mountains of British Columbia. They took a hike together and at the top of a beautiful mountain overlooking some of the most beautiful scenery in North America, he knelt down and asked her to marry him. How lovely is that!

Chris and Showna, congratulations! Remember this day always, and the love you shared with each other and your little son! Best of the best wishes for all of you from all of us at Cactus and Lace!
