Although most of our weddings are intimate and fairly straightforward, every once in a while, we have a couple that wants to split the wedding into two locations. Adria and Steve decided to have their ceremony at Valley of Fire, with the reception in Las Vegas at the 5th Street school, a historic school that has now been renovated for weddings and art events.
The day was beautiful and warm, and Adria and Steve had brought their beautiful dog along. These two are living the van life, based out of Las Vegas, and they travel and blog about their adventures along with their cute Doberman pup, Lexi. On instagram, they are known as @thedobervan. It was fun getting the van decorated for the wedding and situated to show off Valley of Fire in the background.
One special touch was the couple’s rings, which were custom designed. Steve’s ring was created to show a scene of the desert, with beautiful mountains and sky made with metal inlays to highlight the beauty of the natural setting. Adria’s ring was equally beautiful and we loved the sparkle! Pretty cool you two!
Music always brings in richness and depth to a wedding. Steve and Adria had requested acoustic guitar music to create an intimate mood, and Josh Crooks did a marvelous job bringing in the moody, rich tones of the guitar to achieve that.
At the ceremony, desserts from Caked Las Vegas helped to provide a sweet treat for everyone to hold them until dinner back in Las Vegas. Steve’s sister and Claire, the maid of honor, had made the vegan cupcakes and wedding cake for the Vegas portion of the wedding. How sweet was that!
Once the ceremony was over, the group had time to wander around Seven Sisters for a bit, while the couple was having their portrait time, to get the full effects of our red rocks and cliffs, desert sand, and rolling hills that Valley of Fire is known for. Later, the entire wedding party traveled to Las Vegas to have a rousing fun time with dinner provided by Tacos and Beer, and a DJ provided by @boogie_entertainment. Our couple love to dance and were on the dance floor much of the time. We ended the evening with a sendoff of ribbons and bells!
Adria and Steve, we are so excited to watch you on your mobile journey as you travel and discover new places and things to explore on your newlywed journey! All the best and warmest wishes to you both, and Lexi as well! Love, from Cactus and Lace Weddings!
