Both Hope and Jettie were a little nervous. When I asked Jettie how he was doing right before the ceremony he said “I’m still breathing.” as we wiped his brow. Hope arrived in a separate vehicle so they wouldn’t see each other before the walk down the aisle. She was trembling as she lined up with her brother at the bottom of the stairs to walk up to the secluded Visitor Center wedding location area.
It was a sweet and simple ceremony, the Visitor Center was the perfect spot for limited decor with set in concrete benches for the guests. Quick group pictures and a simple toast after the ceremony let time for hugs and congratulations. Especially for Jettie’s 7-year-old daughter, who was also the ring bearer.
Jettie and Hope then excused their guests so they could set off into the desert for a private moment to exchange their vows. Written in lovely paper booklets they cried and poured their hearts out.
