Lacey and Joseph met as freshman at Mount De Sales Academy in Macon, Georgia way back in 2005. The first time they saw each other, they were both wearing black sneakers with green laces. They were seated next to each other in religion class and they have been together ever since! Nearly 14 years later, Joseph proposed in their home incorporating the identical black sneakers and green shoes laces.
CoVid Elopement and Vow Renewal
What started out as a 2020 wedding turned into a fall elopement/vow renewal. The pandemic hit hard and fast, and guests dropped off the wedding guest list left and right. Joseph and Lacey decided to marry at home. But they still wanted to have a dream wedding. Would it ever happen? In the end, they came out to the desert to have an elopement after their marriage at home, with a few friends and family. It couldn’t have been sweeter!
Joe and Lacey are the shy, quiet, and sweet kind. Both of their mom’s were so happy to see their kids be able to celebrate after an entire year of downs. Lacey and Joseph’s thank you speech brought tears to our teams eyes as she was so overcome with her words of heart felt appreciation.
What a Wedding Dress!
Lacey had chosen to wear a simple silky shift for her legal ceremony back home so that she could wear her actual wedding gown that she dreamed of wearing for a long time out in the desert at her elopement. Her dress was amazing with bell sleeves. Those sleeves were so elegant and photographed like a dream to add a special touch to her dress. Check out her wedding images to see what we mean!
Lacey and Joseph, congratulations on your marriage! Best wishes and all our love, Cactus and Lace Weddings!
