For people who live in the West, like the real West, with cowboys and cowgirls, rodeos, and such, we get it. There is a laid-back, typical kind of relaxed but get-the-work-done kind of reality that permeates most events. Cynthia and Casey get it. They had chosen to get married earlier due to the pandemic but still wanted that beautiful wedding day with all that that entails. Friends and close family who really know and love this couple were invited, but due to the Pandemic, it was kept small and intimate.
We had booked Cynthia and Casey’s wedding clear back in 2020 but then had to move it to December of 2021, cuz, ya know, the CoV word. In the meantime, they had a baby, who stole our hearts, and the show. Little Sawyer was the cutest!
Cynthia was stunning and wore some breathtaking vintage turquoise jewelry. One of her other accessories was a tooled, leather belt that was eye-catching and so dang cute! Paired with that cute dress she had chosen were flowers to highlight her eyes and smile, and keep the theme running true to her wishes. A beautiful custom flower bouquet and accent pieces from the Front Porch really tied this wedding altogether.
Keeping with our earthy, laid-back western theme, our cake was a geode cake. Our baker had really outdone themselves this time, with a marbled geode look that actually had large geode rocks made of rock candy inside. So cool! We did have almost a moment though when Casey did a cake smash. Which is usually fine, but this time it was on our bride! This is one of those teaching moments Casey, where karma will come back to play a little role, maybe in a dessert retaliation of her own! But Cynthia was able to forgive right there, especially when we cleaned up the cake and assured her that her beautiful face was still fresh and perfect for pictures.
Casey and Cynthia, we loved and adored you both, along with the cutest kid this side of the Rockies. Blessings and our best wishes are being sent your way from all of us at Cactus and Lace Weddings. Yahoo! Congrats! Ya did it good!
