So Lory usually writes these blog post because she is a much more elegant writer than I am. But as this was HER 40th vow renewal she felt pretentious writing about herself so you are left with my blunt, short retelling of the day; without any of Lory’s poetic words.
Because we couldn’t let our dear Lory and her husband, Craig, let their 40th Anniversary pass by without a celebration; we planned a (semi surprise) desert vow renewal at Valley of Fire. Just a small affair, with Lory and Craig’s 3 children, Melissa, Alisha, and Allen and the Cactus and Lace team; let it be intimate and heart felt. A few tears, many laughs, and lots of cake (it’s always about the cake) made the day complete. May you have many more years together!
(Side note from Lory: “Although I won’t write about myself, I will express my gratitude for everyone that helped with this surprise anniversary party. To Rachel, from the bottom of my heart, I love you dearly and thank you for a great day with my family and friends that I will always remember and never forget. To my kids, thanks for being great human beings and coming to see the parental units get “hitched and renewed”. And to the rest of you, Pastor Jason Ham, Rey, Amanda, Alex, Cora of Ruby Finch Salon, Tiffany of Peridot Sweets, Char and the wonder team of the Front Porch Flowers, we had a marvelous day thanks to all of you! I tried to write thank you notes, but I cried the whole time. I figured you couldn’t see me cry online, so I will do it here… Mwah, and thanks so much for all the love we felt that day. Marriage, I highly recommend it!”)
