Ashley said, “I was in Vegas for my 21st birthday five years ago and fell in love. While there, I spent time in Red Rock Canyon and knew from that moment on I wanted a boho wedding in the desert.” We are so grateful and honored that Ashley and Phillip chose Cactus and Lace Weddings to help realize that dream.
The day of Ashley and Phillip’s wedding was clear, sunny, and warm with some good breezes. One of our favorite areas is Rainbow Vista, just the right place to hold an intimate wedding, with a small group of friends and family. We wanted to bring to life Ashley’s idea of a free spirited boho wedding. In our planning together with Ashley, we envisioned a teepee arch with a cow skull adornment, and the minimalist Moroccan style tent with flowing white fabric for the sweetheart table. It all fit so well at Valley of Fire. Mismatched chairs, and the small couch for decor also added to the contrast of furniture against the wilderness of Valley of Fire as a background. The teepee in front with that vast and epic wilderness in back of it, looks amazing and beyond description. As always, the absolutely stunning flowers and accents from The Front Porch Flowers made this wedding all come together with a flourish. Flowers add so much to the decor of a wedding, bringing elegance and vibrant, yet soft, color which is so remarkable! The custom wedding cake for Ashley and Phillip brings it all together with it’s deliciousness!
How did these two get together anyway? Ashley met Phillip when she was 18 and he worked for her grandpa as an apprentice. “He was a tall, lanky man who was heavily tattooed and just not my type. My young self wanted to date the bad boys and that just wasn’t Phillip. We drifted apart and he got married, then quickly divorced and then we became friends. Finally, two years of being best friends and having my heart broken a million times by bad boys that I couldn’t change, we started dating for real. We decide to get married, but we wanted to just elope with just the three of us, Phillip and I, and our baby daughter. We wanted to have a very intimate wedding, but some of our family said that they couldn’t imagine not being there on our big day.” So family was invited, too and that made it a full party!
And there you have it, how Ashley and Phillip married each other in the wilds of the Nevada desert! Best Wishes to a wonderful couple and their cute little, adorable daughter! All our love from Cactus and Lace Weddings!
