Rainbow Vista. Just the name evokes visions of colorful expanses of rock and desert sandhills, of natural and striking beauty created over the expanse of millions of years. Valley of Fire boasts lots of these striking and spectacular vistas and so is an amazing place to hold a wedding for those so inclined to be outdoors, adventurous souls we call them. And we love to create these weddings just for them!
Imagine then, a wedding, with soft fabric of white sheers blowing in the breeze hanging from a circle arch, strategically placed to highlight those red fiery cliffs, and to form a place where two people in love, can find permanence in the relationship they have created. Blush pink roses and blue thistle accents among the white blooms add just a hint of color to the beautiful arrangement of the bride’s bouquet and groom’s boutonniere. Table settings of silver and soft grey-blue, with subtle pops of pink to bring warmth and romance, set the tone.
Caroline and Michael came across the Atlantic Ocean from the UK to celebrate their marriage with us. We love our UK couples!! Bringing a close-knit group of family and friends, especially their adorable one-year-old daughter Olive, they arrived at Valley of Fire on a lovely October day, with gentle breezes, and bright sunshine. Pledging their love in front of Pastor Jason Ham and family in God’s great outdoors in a natural cathedral of sorts, they each spoke their commitment to love and honor each other.
Caroline was stunning, with lovely hair and makeup perfectly done, a floral accent of babies breath in her hair, and her wedding dress was perfect for the event, trailing a long veil and train, which we love to use for dramatic photography. Matthew looked marvelous in his steel blue suit, and to honor his home country, he and his father and grandfather all wore the same socks, tie, and cufflinks, with the colors of his native UK front and center. Matthew’s special cuff links with detailed with his grandmother in mind. “Tiny” she was, he said, “A little biddy thing”, and that was their pet name for her, “Biddy”. They honored her memory with those cufflinks and a tiny little “b”.
Caroline’s maids were stunning as well in their lovely dresses made of the softest pale blush material. They had brought strips of the fabric from their gowns to add to the bouquets, complementing Caroline’s bouquet.
All this happened with the lovely sounds of an acoustic guitar floating around the natural canyons, played by Michael Lucarelli. The guests ate a light meal and had Carmen’s (SweetSauce Coffee) special blends of coffee to keep warm as the day drew to a close. A lovely pale blue cake with edible silver accents by Caked of Las Vegas was cut by the couple and fed to each other, with a sweet kiss in between.
All in all, we called it a lovely day, an extremely lovely day, and send big hugs and our best wishes to the happy couple, and hope they take all our love back with them as they travel back to the fabulous UK.
