Vegas – the wedding capital and the home of Lady Luck! Though Las Vegas continues to be a huge tourist location, it is also a city that millions of people call home. So of course, there are different areas of town.

If you are looking to get married on your trip in Las Vegas you may assume that your only options are Casino Chapel or Downtown Chapel – that’s is just NOT so!

We’ve broken down the Vegas city by areas of town so you can see just what this city has to offer to those looking to tie the knot.

  1. The Strip

The Strip has lots of big-name Las Vegas hotels and casinos with lots of different style wedding chapels. But most are going to be indoor and fairly classy. They set up as a one-stop-shop, all-inclusive wedding for an easy to plan, one-hour ceremony with around 50 guests. One big draw back with these locations is that they have already contracted with all the vendors in advance so you are forced to use their in-house photographer, florist, officiant, etc. So there is not a lot of room for a custom wedding experience here.

2. Downtown Vegas

Here you can find the kitschy, Vegas-style Elvis weddings that the Downtown area is known for. There is a lot of variety in the Vegas Arts District and historic downtown area for painted murals, neon lights, and historic chapels. You can find plenty of chapels that offer inexpensive weddings for a last-minute wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am ceremony. But there are also lots of venues that can give you a trendy old Vegas vibe for a low-key, classic elopement with an opportunity to custom and style your wedding day.

3. Off-Strip

These are the places that the Las Vegas locals go to get married. Traditional large open-style venues that can host big parties receptions that let you truly decorate and customize your wedding day. Most venues offer the space only, giving you the freedom to bring in your own rentals, catering, decor, photographer, etc. If you go this route, we highly suggest that the first vendor you book be a wedding planner.

4. Desert Locations

Obviously, this is our favorite as we specialize in desert weddings. You get the beauty and isolation of the Mojave desert, less than an hour’s drive outside of the city. The desert is going to be a completely raw venue, meaning there is no power or water. Everything must be brought in. But this does let you have complete control of what you want to bring in and what kind of decoration and wedding theme you want to have.
